As part of Walnut Way’s Lead From Where You Live Initiative, we are joining forces with Lindsay Heights organization Running Rebels to facilitate space for community building in order to strengthen efforts across the neighborhood. Sponsored in part from LISC’s Advancing Equitable Development in Milwaukee, a Community Capacity Building Grant, Walnut Way and Running Rebels will host a three day Community Building Workshop: From Chaos To Community, Healing The Wounds That Divide.
The workshop is a Pilot Collaborative Project Between Walnut Way Conservation Corp. and Running Rebels Community Organization for Milwaukee’s Lindsay Heights Neighborhood. Lindsay Heights residents, stakeholders, and business owners are invited to participate in the workshop with the goal to build trust, authentic relationships, and bolster community mobilization efforts.
Workshop Co-recruiter, Terron Edwards, Community Engagement Coordinator at Walnut Way said, “We want to hold space to see what’s at the heart, mind, and spirit of Lindsay Heights stakeholders, so that we can improve the connections of neighbors, business owners, community organizations, and people that live and work in Lindsay Heights in order to move together more strategically and effectively on projects.”
The workshop will take place at the Northside YMCA, 1350 W. North Avenue, from November 13 to November 15, 2018. Those interested in more information can contact Terron Edwards for at 414-264-2326 extension 20 or email tedwards@walnutway.org
