This year we are reinvigorating our Neighbor Nights with a series of classes focused on healthy eating and nutrition by Chef Anomalous Campbell and Nutritionist, Bridgett Wilder. Each instructor will teach six classes to help participants on their wellness journey. All classes are free thanks to support from American Cancer Society. Classes begin March 12th!
Chef Anomalous Campbell is an imaginative and healthy full service chef and owner of Anomaly Catering. She is also a strong leader of Walnut Way’s Healing Circle. In the past few years she’s started her own catering company offering fresh and innovative cuisine.
Chef Campbell will teach six courses, called Mindful Eating Circles. Her class will teach through hands on cooking demos, outdoor classes at local gardens, farmers markets, and at the Walnut Way Center. Classes will discuss how to minimize processed food intake. Classes will cover the difference between organic, conventional, and irradiated foods. There will be discussions around the importance of meal prepping, reading food labels, and how to shop for budget friendly healthy foods at local grocery stores.
The second series, Mindful Nutrition, will be taught by nutritionist, Bridgett Wilder. Bridgett Wilder is a north side Milwaukee resident who became a widow at the age of 36 with nine children, ages 4 months to 16 years. In 2018 she graduated from Mt. Mary University with a degree in dietetics and launched Perseverance Health and Wellness Coaching and Consultation Services, LLC., that helps individuals improve their health by way of nutrition.
In Wilder’s six part healthy eating series, participants will learn how to eat your way into good health and prevent disease with nutrition.
