ARTWORKS FOR MILWAUKEE TO UNVIEL MURAL AT HARVEST DAY
Four high school interns from ArtWorks for Milwaukee, one professional artist, one MIAD student, and two UWM interns teamed up this summer to create two murals for the Lindsay Heights neighborhood. The team surveyed neighborhood residents at nearby parks and stores to gather input on what the community would like to see in Lindsay Heights. Themes included reducing violence and drug use, community, and nature. The murals depict a colorful community with messages to encourage safe driving and drug prevention.
Walnut Way and ArtWorks will publicly unveil the murals on Harvest Day at 1:30pm, after which the artwork will be installed on Walnut Way’s campus. Please join us in celebrating their hard work!
Thank you to Forest County Potawatomi Foundation and Employ Milwaukee for providing funding to make this program possible.
