Your support will help us continue to transform our community
Dear Walnut Way Friends,
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving. Whether it’s in our city, state, nation, or around the world — people use this day to kick off the giving season by inspiring others to collaborate, show up, and give back to the issues and communities we care about the most.
In a “normal” year, you’d see a fair amount of Giving Tuesday emails in your inbox. However, COVID-19 and its effects on nonprofit revenues and operations means many more organizations in Milwaukee and beyond need financial support. Still, we write today asking you to consider making Walnut Way a part of your end-of-year giving. We need your support now more than ever.
Your gift would do two critical things for Walnut Way:
- Ensure we can continue to further our goals of bringing economic prosperity, environmental stewardship, health and wellness, and civic engagement to our community of Lindsay Heights and the North Avenue Commercial Corridor.
- Help us close our our 20th anniversary year in a meaningful way by providing a kickstart to our 2021 programming and initiatives.
This year, we’re offering two ways to show your support for Walnut Way:
- BUY GEAR – Purchase a piece of Garden Gear! In honor of our 20th anniversary year, we’ve designed a bunch of cool merch — t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, even baby bibs! — inspired by the Walnut Way gardens and how our community has transformed them into flourishing fields of abundance, one seed at a time.
- MAKE A DONATION – Make an online donation to make a one-time or recurring donation. These donations will be put towards the area of greatest need for Walnut Way — it might be used to purchase vegetable seeds for a future harvest, provide workforce development training, or fund programming.
In spite of this year’s challenges, it’s been a time of action, accomplishment, and adaptation at Walnut Way — all the work we do we simply could not be done without your support.
Thank you for considering Walnut Way when you give back this year — and we look forward to working together to accomplish big things in 2021.
With Gratitude,
Antonio Butts,
Walnut Way Executive Director
