Artist / Expert Bio:
Ras `Ammar Nsoroma is a muralist, portraitist, and mixed media painter and artist. His work centers around the spiritual, cultural, and political consciousness of the African Diaspora.

Detaya Johnson studied Geology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and taught Introduction to Geology and Water Quality during her master’s studies. She has interned with USGS, WGNHS, and Racine Health Department. Detaya also has extensive research experience with Structural Geologists, Microbiologists, and Groundwater Geologists from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Detaya is currently extremely engaged and passionate about connecting art and science. In 2022, Detaya started Karma Community Gardens on 35th and Lloyd, where she intends to connect the science community and artists to make an impact in the Washington Park area.
