Group Volunteer Opportunities
Each growing season (April-October), we welcome adult groups to the Walnut Way Campus to participate in impactful volunteer activities. We truly appreciate the time, talent, skill, and spirit that volunteers bring. Walnut Way provides an environment that promotes team-building, community, and positive experiences. Most groups volunteer in the gardens. We also accept volunteers at special events depending on the need.
Group gardening volunteers will participate in a tour of the Walnut Way Campus, learn about the history of the organization and join in a volunteer activity to support our urban agriculture production. Activities are dependent on the need of the gardens and may include watering, weeding, planting trees, mulching, installing garden beds, clearing vacant lots, clean up, canning, harvesting and weighing crops.
Group Size: 5-25 people.
Duration: 4 hour commitment minimum. Mornings preferred due to the heat.
Scheduling: Use the request form on this page. 6 week notice is preferred.
*T-shirts may be available for purchase for groups depending on availability. Contact us for more information.
Individual Volunteer Opportunities
Walnut Way welcomes individual volunteers at special events at our canning nights (2019 growing season).
