Volunteer Opportunities
Each growing season (April-October), we welcome adult groups and individuals to the Walnut Way Campus to participate in impactful volunteer activities. We truly appreciate the time, talent, skill, and spirit that volunteers bring. Walnut Way provides an environment that promotes team-building, community, and positive experiences. Most volunteers work in the gardens and in the center doing canning and preservation. We also accept volunteers at special events depending on the need.
Volunteers will participate in an orientation, a tour of the Walnut Way Campus, learn about the history of the organization, and join in a volunteer activity to support our urban agriculture production. Activities are dependent on the need of the gardens and may include watering, weeding, planting trees, mulching, installing garden beds, clearing vacant lots, clean up, canning, harvesting and weighing crops.
Group Size: 1-25 people.
Duration: 2 hour commitment minimum. Mornings preferred due to the heat.
Scheduling: Use the request form on this page. 6 week notice is preferred.
