What is being decided
We Energies has asked the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to raise electric rates in 2027 and 2028 — about 16 percent over the two years, roughly $22 more a month for a typical household by 2028, or about $260 a year. This is docket 5-UR-112.
At the same time, the company is building new generation and transmission to serve very large new customers, including data centers. Somebody has to pay for those plants and lines. This case decides who. That is the whole question.
